Oh!
It's not a great problem, since at home I've another Mac with Snow Leopard (and Ubuntu Linux and Windows, thanks to rEFIt), but obviously I'd be glad to play PokerTH with my notebook as well, when I'm around the world.
So I'll consider to upgrade to Snow Leopard, but only if it doesn't mess my other professional softwares. But probably it's better for me to install rEFIt and Ubuntu Linux also on the MacBook Pro.
Thanks again.

I'm afraid that this is a known Mac OS bug:

lists.apple.com/archives/xcode-users/2010/May/msg00218.html

I compiled PokerTH 0.8 beta on Snow Leopard (10.6) using gcc 4.2 and it seems that this causes an error on Leopard (10.5). There is the possibility to use gcc 4.0 on Snow Leopard, but this would further complicate the build process - actually I have no idea how to do it for all libs which also need to be compiled.

The best thing would be if someone could build PokerTH on a Leopard system. But we've already looked for a Mac maintainer for a long time without success.

So for the time being, I'm afraid that you need Snow Leopard to run PokerTH 0.8 on Mac. Sorry

Could you please do the following:

1. Start a Terminal console (black icon with ">_" in it).
2. Run PokerTH manually by entering
/Applications/pokerth.app/Contents/MacOS/pokerth
and press return.
3. Please copy and paste all output on the console here (you can cut your username from the terminal)

Thanks, lotodore.
Here is my output (the first line is the command):

Code:

bash-3.2$ /Applications/pokerth.app/Contents/MacOS/pokerth
dyld: Symbol not found: __ZNKSt10bad_typeid4whatEv
  Referenced from: /Applications/pokerth.app/Contents/MacOS/pokerth
  Expected in: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib

Trace/BPT trap

I'm not a programmer, so can you help me in realizing what's happening and how can I walkthrough this problem?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the report, and sorry that it does not work. I only have a single Mac system to test on.
I've removed your Hardware UUID and serial number from your post, you should not post them here .

Could you please do the following:

1. Start a Terminal console (black icon with ">_" in it).
2. Run PokerTH manually by entering
/Applications/pokerth.app/Contents/MacOS/pokerth
and press return.
3. Please copy and paste all output on the console here (you can cut your username from the terminal)

I put PokerTH.app file in the Applications folder, but when I launch it, it quits after a few moments, without showing the main window.
I use an old MacBook Pro (Intel), Mac OS X 10.5.8.
Here is my system report (sorry, it's in Italian):
Nome modello: MacBook Pro 17"
Identificatore modello: MacBookPro1,2
Nome processore: Intel Core Duo
Velocità processore: 2.16 GHz
Numero di processori: 1
Numero totale di nuclei: 2
Cache L2: 2 MB
Memoria: 2 GB
Velocità bus: 667 MHz
Versione Boot ROM: MBP12.0061.B03
Version SMC (sistema): 1.5f10
Numero di serie (sistema): <removed>
Hardware UUID: <removed>
Sensore movimento improvviso:
Stato: Abilitato

Can the problem being due to the 32 bit environment of my MacBook Pro? Does PokerTH require a 64 OS?
