We turned back from IRC when they deployed a more secure layer. As IRC was not used by the players at all it seemed logical not to spend extra time to adjust the server to the new sec layers.

Ah - you mean in-game chat.

As far as I remember, there never was a sound played when the own nickname has been mentioned in the game-chat.

The client software did not change - pls check your settings.

As a logic result forum software is updated too now - ty foami for addressing it - replying to this post should be possible now.

Due to some changes on bbc website, the whole web-server finally moved from using php v7.x to v8.x. This also includes an upgrade to all used laravel setups from v8.x to v9.x.
